It was not unusual for them to be awakened in all hours of the night to get up and fix food. My grandfather was transferred to Wakefield where he became the assistant to Mr. Larson, Roadmaster. It was during my tag along years that I learned by listening to Grandpa talk railroad to Mr. Larson Pranger (agent), Mr. Acton and our neighbor, Mr. Swan Pearson, who was a former railroad fireman.
